TERRA Named 2nd Best Sussex Restaurant in the BRAVO 2025 Awards

TERRA Restaurant at Tottington Manor was voted 2nd Best Sussex Restaurant in the 2025 BRAVO Awards, placing immediately behind CrabShack in a public-vote category celebrating restaurants across Sussex.

A standout result for a young restaurant

TERRA was launched as a distinct restaurant concept at Tottington Manor in 2023, so finishing second in the Best Sussex Restaurant category just two years later was an important milestone. The result placed TERRA alongside some of the county's best-known independent restaurants and reinforced the idea that the restaurant had become a destination in its own right rather than simply a hotel dining room.

Restaurants Brighton's 2025 Hall of Fame lists CrabShack in first place, TERRA at Tottington Manor second and Poco third in the Best Sussex Restaurant category.

Why Sussex sits at the centre of TERRA

The result also fits the way TERRA has developed its identity. The restaurant is at the foot of the South Downs National Park near Henfield and its menus are shaped around Sussex produce, seasonal ingredients and relationships with local growers, farms, vineyards and food producers.

The wine list follows the same principle, with a particularly strong selection of Sussex wines alongside wines from established regions around the world. That combination of local food, Sussex wine and a countryside setting gives TERRA a clear sense of place.

2025 was a breakout year for TERRA

The Best Sussex Restaurant result was not TERRA's only BRAVO recognition in 2025. The same awards also named TERRA Sustainability Champion, placing the restaurant first in that category.

The year also brought wider recognition for the restaurant as its profile continued to grow, including AA Rosette recognition and further independent restaurant coverage.

Restaurants Brighton later described TERRA as second best in Sussex

The 2025 result did not disappear into an awards archive. In a later feature on TERRA's winter tasting menu, Restaurants Brighton explicitly described the restaurant as having been voted second best restaurant in Sussex in the 2025 BRAVO Awards, using the achievement as part of the context for the restaurant's continuing development.

That later coverage is useful because it independently connects the award result with the restaurant that TERRA was becoming: more ambitious tasting experiences, continued emphasis on local ingredients and a stronger destination-dining identity.

And TERRA remained in Sussex's Top 10 in 2026

The 2026 BRAVO results provide a useful follow-up. Restaurants Brighton's current Best Restaurants in Sussex guide places TERRA at Tottington Manor 7th in the 2026 Best Sussex Restaurant ranking, with Andalucia in Ferring taking first place.

Moving from second in 2025 to seventh in 2026 still leaves TERRA firmly inside Sussex's Top 10, giving the 2025 result some continuity rather than making it a one-off ranking.
