Set at the foot of the South Downs, midway between Brighton, Horsham and Haywards Heath, Tottington Manor enjoys beautiful surroundings with a peaceful and calm environment. Our beautiful countyside location is enough of a reason for us to focus on preserving our rich environment and being the most sustainable hospitality venue we can be. We have 4 key areas of focus

Reducing Consumption : Through Electrification, smart control, insulation and working towards solar energy.
Economic Sustainability : As an independent venue we prefer to work with independent local trades and suppliers across the South Downs and Sussex area local to the hotel.

Locally Sourced Ingredients : Supporting the farmers and growers ensures that the landscape that we can so often take for granted remains cared for and it tastes great too,
Waste reduction : Eliminating Single Use Plastics, Thoughtful menu design, recycling seperation and minimising food waste.

Our most recent addition to our sustainable tourism plan is the use of energy recovery through our log burners. In winter oour log burners provide a warming glow to our Olive Lounge, in addition the excess heat is used to begin warming our hot water, reducing the amount of heating oil required.

As well as sourcing our TERRA restaurant menu ingredients from local farms and suppliers across Sussex, as an independent venue we prefer to work with independent trades and suppliers who employ local staff and support the economy across the South Downs National Park and Sussex.

As well as introducing our own water filtration and bottling facility for TERRA restaurant, we also removed all single use plastic across the site. We seperate all our non food waste and are currently working on reducing the food waste caused by leftovers on guests plates.
