Five-course TERRA dining and an intimate live performance with West End star Dean Chisnall — bringing the West End into the South Downs for one very special evening.

Dinner, performance and conversation — all around the same table

On Saturday 17 October, Tottington Manor welcomes Dean Chisnall for an evening designed to feel much closer than a conventional theatre show. Dean performs live, talks about his career in musical theatre and shares stories from some of the West End's best-known productions while the TERRA Restaurant team serves a five-course tasting menu.

The evening begins from 6:45pm with a welcome Sussex sparkling drink and canapés before the food, music and conversation unfold together.

The performer

From the Phantom to Jean Valjean and Shrek

Dean Chisnall's musical-theatre career includes some formidable roles. The existing Tottington Manor feature on the event draws on his official theatre biographies and lists credits including The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, Jean Valjean in Les Misérables and the title role in Shrek the Musical, alongside Blood Brothers, Love Never Dies, Evita, La Cage aux Folles and The Woman in White.

The format at Tottington Manor is deliberately intimate. This is not simply a distant stage performance followed by dinner: the songs sit alongside stories and conversation, giving musical-theatre fans a chance to hear both the voice and the experiences behind the roles.

The West End is coming to the South Downs — but this time you can stay for dinner.

Five courses from the TERRA Restaurant team

The performance is paired with a five-course tasting menu from the TERRA Restaurant team, inspired by seasonal Sussex produce. Guests arrive for a welcome Sussex sparkling drink and canapés before the evening moves naturally between dining, live performance and conversation.

It is a different kind of night out: less formal than a trip to a large theatre, more immersive than dinner followed by a show, and all taking place at Tottington Manor at the foot of the South Downs.

Stay after the final note

No taxi. No designated driver. No rush home.

There is a particularly good way to finish an evening like this: don't leave.

Tottington Manor has 12 boutique bedrooms, so you can turn A Night at the Musicals into a proper South Downs night away. Stay on site, relax over a final drink after the performance and head upstairs when you are ready rather than watching the clock for a taxi or deciding who has to drive home.

Breakfast the following morning means the evening does not have to end with the last song. Bedrooms are booked separately from event tickets and remain subject to availability.
